Doctoral programme
The doctoral programme is based on the development of competences essential from the perspective of a beginning researcher and academic teacher. The doctoral students conduct research in a research team or individually, under the supervision of a PhD supervisor and tutors. They participate in classes that develop key competences, prepares grant applications, and through publications, scientific conferences and internships, they join the international scientific community. Each doctoral student who does not yet have a doctoral degree receives a scholarship.
In the field of science and and engineering and technology admission is carried out in the following disciplines:
- materials engineering,
- biomedical engineering,
- computer and information sciences,
- mathematics,
- chemical sciences,
- physical sciences.

Qualification criteria
Stage 1, Criterion 1 - Student record card (transcript of records)
In establishing the result, assessments of those learning outcomes that are significant for the implementation of research projects in the discipline of computer and information sciences shall be taken into account; the scoring criteria adopted by the committee shall be described in the minutes.

Stage 1, Criterion 2 - Academic and science communication activity to date
In establishing the result, activities such as authorship or co-authorship of scientific publications, science communication activities in mathematics, and public presentations related to mathematics shall be taken into account. The scoring criteria adopted by the committee shall be recorded in the minutes.

Weight: 0.5
Stage 2, Criterion 1 - Admission interview
The assessment shall cover the presentation delivered by the candidate, responses to questions regarding the presentation and the examination questions, and proficiency in English within the discipline of Mathematics

How to calculate the final score
The final result shall correspond to the result of the second stage. If several candidates achieve the same score, their position on the ranking list shall be determined by the total points obtained in the first and second stages.
